Responsible for product design, CAD modeling, tolerance calculation, drawing and product structure (Mechanical BOM), creation of medium to high complexity projects according to defined guidelines; Responsible for designing technical, decorative and optical parts from plastic, MgAl, or sheet metal; Contributes to the communication process with internal and external customers and suppliers (including test laboratories) for low-medium complexity projects using appropriate tools; Responsible to optimize existing design by various techniques (reverse engineering, bench marking etc.) and offer engineering support and expertise to reach a better cost, quality, reliability, and manufacturing; Guarantee the DFM process with all involved stake holders until design validation and implementation up to production launch, focusing on: R&D participation in all DFM workshops, starting in the quote / acquisition phase; Manufacturing approval (MA) is given; The FPY target is reached in the launch phase. Review manufacturing line concept and ensure that all relevant requirements (including special characteristics) are implemented: Assembling specification agreed; Requirements transferred into production equipment specifications and drawings; Requirements transferred into product specification and drawings. Drive DFM in platform and standardization projects of common manufacturing technologies according to time, budget, and quality commitments; Responsible to plan and track own and other’s work packages.
