As SSD Manufacturing Manager, you will manage SSD Test ManufacturingArea of 330direct reports engaged in the production of SSD Test Area. You will provide leadership and direction to shift supervisors and leads toward the attainment of production goals.You will maintain oversight of the production process and drive resolution of problems that arise. You will adapt to changes on the fly and pursue alternate paths, when necessary to achieve objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain staffing levels needed to meetproduction/non-production schedules
Plan and execute operator training strategies to ensure coverage of assignoperations
Monitor production requirements to ensure priorities are communicated and addressed
Identify and drive resolution of problems that could impact output or quality
Monitor tool performance as needed and react to out-of-control situations
Work with Test Engineering, Product Engineering, EquipmentEngineering, Process Engineering andMaintenance teams to address process issues
Ensure employees are hired, promoted, and compensated consistent with company policies
Track employee performance to ensure expectations are being met
Provide timely coaching to develop and enhance the performance of your direct reports
Conduct periodic performance reviews and ensure assessments are fair andconsistent
Address performance problems in a timely fashion and take appropriate actions
Ensure the consistent application of appropriate disciplinary actions, when warranted
Provide coaching/direction to lower level managers, supervisors, or technicians
Help promote and implement “Lean” manufacturing concepts
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Prior supervisory/management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of SSD manufacturing processes and associated equipment and testers
Familiarity with MES, SPC and similar applications/systems used to monitor drivesflow and equipmentperformance.
Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint and Word (Intermediate level, minimum)
Familiarity with production reports used to assign work, prioritize wip and track output
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
PREFERRED:
Education in tertiarytechnical field preferred, but not required
